Ideally situated in the city center on the Marlin Marina connected to The Pier shopping complex and adjacent to the Trinity Bay Esplanade, the Shangri-La Hotel serves as an ideal gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and Cairns. The Shangri-La is just 10 minutes drive from the Cairns International Airport and is a fantastic option for short stays and overnight transits.
When Shangri-La took over the excellent location of its hotel it embarked on an extensive refurbishment program to the tune of $35 million, which saw the upgrade of existing facilities and the construction of exciting new ones such as Tides Restaurant & Bar, the Hotel Lobby Bar, renovations of all existing guest rooms as well as the new Horizon Club rooms.
The Shangri-La has 256 spacious guest rooms and suites with great views of the Marlin Marina, tranquil Trinity Bay, the Rainforest Gardens, or the pool.
All rooms have private balconies with deck chairs and the hotel has a wide range of facilities such as a gymnasium, a swimming pool and 24 hour room service.
