Kluane National Park flightseeing tour

Kluane National Park

Soar above the snow-tipped peaks and winding rivers of Kluane National Park on this flightseeing trip.

With no roads into Kluane National Park, air travel is one of the few ways to experience the grandeur and majesty of this vast wilderness area. This tour is a 90-minute guided trip taking in the vast scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is home to the highest mountains in Canada including Mount Logan, and with all the St Elias peaks in view, this is likely to be an incredible sight.

The tour takes you over the St Elias Mountains in a ski plane to land on an icefield just across from Mount Logan, the highest mountain in Canada, and second highest in North America after Denali in Alaska, with the opportunity to get out on the snow, and take some great photos of the mountains. You’ll also have time to absorb the vastness and silence of the largest non-polar icefield in the world.

The tour departs from Silver City, about 45 minutes from Haines Junction. As you lift off in the plane, you’ll catch sight of rivers and lakes below reflecting the sky and winding their way into the park, and the varied tones of the mountains and hills. The mountains will grow larger and larger until you reach the snow-capped peaks of the St Elias range. If you’re lucky, you may also catch glimpses of animals roaming the mountains and plains on the journey.
