Itinerary idea in detail

Ask us if you would also like us to arrange your international flights at our preferred rates.

  • Arrive in India and connect through to your onward flight to Diu. On arrival, you'll be taken straight to your hotel. If there's time, you can walk along the beach which tends to be quite busy with locals enjoying picnics and games on the sand.

  • After a leisurely breakfast, you will discover the delights of old Diu Town, including the Portuguese Fort built in 1535, the baroque St Paul's Church and the market square. Afterwards, you will drive to Gir, which should take around three to four hours.

  • Enjoy morning and afternoon private game drives, keeping an eye out for the Asiatic lion. Sasan Gir is the last remaining national park that contains Asiatic Lion. The population is well protected and flourishing, so there's a good chance of spotting one.

  • On today's morning and afternoon private game drives you will have the chance to spot sloth bears, cobras, jungle cats, striped hyenas, golden jackals, mongoose and palm civets.

  • Continue your journey to Velavadar National Park, stopping en route at Palitana to see the temples there. This journey will take approximately five hours. On arrival, you will check in to Black Buck Lodge, in Velavadar National Park. The park is a varied landscape of grasslands, shrublands, saline plains and mud flats.

  • Go out on morning and afternoon private game drives and keep your eyes peeled for blackbuck, wolves and hyenas. In-between safaris you will have time to rest and relax at the lodge.

  • Your journey today will take you to Dasada via Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary, where you can hope to see flamingos and pelicans. Take a walk around the lakes with an experienced naturalist.

  • Enjoy morning and afternoon private game drives to try and track down the wild Asiatic ass. You will be driving around Little Rann of Kutch, one of the largest salt marshes in the world.

  • From Dasada, you will make your way to Ahmedabad, stopping en route at Patan to see one of the best-preserved step wells in India and the intricate Modhera Sun Temple. On arrival into Ahmedabad and after checking into your hotel you have the rest of the afternoon at leisure. You might like to try the spa or pool at your hotel.

  • Full-day city tour of Ahmedabad with your guide, including the old city and historic quarter. The Calico Museum of Textiles is considered the best textile museum in the world. It also has a large display of local sculptures and paintings.

  • This morning you will be met and driven to Ahmedabad Airport for your flight home.
