Itinerary idea in detail

Ask us if you would also like us to arrange your international flights at our preferred rates.

  • You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stop.

  • Today, you'll be collected by your driver and English-speaking guide, who will drive you for around three hours through the mountainous central plateau to the Andasibe National Park. You will have the rest of your day at leisure. You may enjoy a nocturnal walk during your stay, watching out for the tiny mouse lemurs.

  • A full day to explore Perinet. Today you may wish to explore the Perinet reserve, perhaps visiting the indri in the morning and the other lemur species found in this area. The indri have a distinctive haunting cry, that you can hear in the early mornings. In the afternoon, you may want to explore the park further, looking out for the numerous reptiles found here and wandering through the wonderful vegetation this park is home to.

  • A day exploring the area with your guides. You will travel an hour or so to the Mantadia National Park. The wildlife here is quite different and you can see diademed sifaka. The forest has a prehistoric feel and is one of the area's last pockets of true primary rainforest.

  • After another walk in the forest this morning, you will return to the capital city through the scenic escarpment region. You might like to enjoy a short city tour of Antananarivo today.

  • Early this morning, you will be collected and driven to the airport, where you will check in at the small Air Hotel office to the left of the departures hall in Tana Airport. You will be shown to the plane and fly to Anjajavy, a flight of around two hours. You will land on the dirt airstrip and be met by the camp staff who will drive you to the hotel. Anjajavy has a beautiful setting on the coast, backed by deciduous forest. You often see brown lemurs on the hotel grounds. *Please note that these time schedules are subject to change without notice. The feasibility of the flights is weather-dependent.*

  • There are many activities to choose from at Anjajavy — the staff will advise you of the options and the various costs. We recommend a walk in the forest as it has some beautiful tsingy, huge baobabs and plentiful wildlife. In the afternoon you must go for tea in the Oasis garden. This is very tranquil, the cakes are rather good, and the brown lemurs and Coquerel's sifakas are often seen.

  • You have a day to relax at Anjajavy or enjoy further activities.

  • You may like to relax by the pool or on the beach or enjoy your hammock on your deck. If you'd like to enjoy some further activities we can recommend the boat trip to Moramba Bay. This trip gives you the opportunity to explore some beautiful islands and enjoy a spot of snorkeling.
