Begin your journey by arriving in the country's capital, Lisbon. Your private driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel where you can rest and relax before heading out for a special dinner that showcases Portugal's fado music tradition.
-
Get to know Lisbon today with a guided walking tour of the city's highlights, such as the riverfront Praça do Comércio and the Chiado shopping district. Along the way, taste some Portuguese delicacies and learn how they fit into the city's history and traditions. After your tour, spend the rest of the day exploring at your leisure.
-
Venture outside of Lisbon for the day to explore nearby Sintra, believed by Portugal's ancient Celts to be a place of mystical power. The occult-inspired Quinta da Regaleira reflects that belief in its mythological symbolism and hidden grottoes. You can also enjoy towering views from the Palácio da Pena and Palácio Nacional, then eat lunch in town before returning to Lisbon.
-
Today, leave Lisbon and head north by train to Portugal's second city, Porto, which is known for its dozens of port wine caves lining the Douro River. Upon arrival, you'll be met and driven to your hotel to spend the rest of the day on your own exploring the city.
-
Take in Porto today with a full-day panoramic tour of the city followed by a port wine tasting. Begin by exploring the city's historic heart on foot, passing by landmarks such as the Sé do Porto and the São Bento train station, before you hop in a car to drive down to the bustling waterfront at Foz do Douro and then across the river to the Serra do Pilar viewpoint. Move to the port caves across the river from Porto in Vila Nova de Gaia, where you'll have a guided tour and tasting to learn about port production and traditions.
-
Though Porto is home to dozens of port wine caves, their vineyards are north of the city in the Douro Valley, where you'll spend a full day today. Begin by heading to a winery for a morning tour and tasting, after which you'll head to a second winery for a lunch paired with wines. Afterwards, finish your day with a third winery tour and tasting before heading back to Porto, all the while taking in the hills and scenery of the Douro Valley.
-
Your journey through Portugal ends today as you make your way to the Porto Airport for your flight home.
