This Victorian farmhouse, with its lofty ceilings and light and airy rooms, is set in wonderful landscaped gardens amongst spreading oak and jacaranda trees, creating a very special ambiance. Whether enjoying a bottle of the Chanteclair wine on the front stoep or exploring the fragrant gardens and orchard, the backdrop of the Franschhoek Mountains will not disappoint. L’Auberge is a tranquil haven where one can relax, unwind and enjoy life between exploring the charming town of Franschhoek and the surrounding area.
The main house has four king or twin rooms and a single room, and there are two detached units, Vine Cottage and The Studio, situated in the grounds. All come with superb views of either the mountains or vineyards. Varying in size and character, the rooms share the same level of attention to detail, featuring under-floor heating and/or a fireplace, an en suite bathroom with heated towel rails, home-made biscuits, satellite TVs, hairdryers, minibars and safes, as well as tea/coffee facilities.
The rooms in the main house are named after different trees found in the garden, and each have their own personality, with some offering direct access to the garden through French doors. The Studio is separate from the main house, featuring a queen size bed, separate seating area with a fireplace and a private veranda with wonderful mountain views. It offers ample space, with high ceilings and wooden beams adding to its character. Vine Cottage has a colonial feel, featuring a queen size bed, a small dining area and a separate lounge area with a fireplace. French doors open out to a large private terrace set beneath vines, which makes a lovely place to relax as you enjoy your surroundings.
