Swala Camp, Tarangire National Park, Tanzania
Swala Camp is set in the southwestern corner of Tarangire National Park in a grove of umbrella acacia trees overlooking a large waterhole.
The camp consists of twelve spacious luxury tents, built on wooden platforms, all facing the waterhole which is a magnet for wildlife such as elephants in the dry season. You can happily while away an hour or two on your deck just watching the action unfold in front of you! The tents are beautifully designed, with crisp linens, mosquito nets, and en suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, flush toilets and outside showers. There is a large lounge and dining area, and the swimming pool is a lovely place to cool off after a day out on safari in Tarangire.
Activities from Swala include game-drives and during school terms, visits to the local school which is supported by the camp can be arranged.
