As you sail northward, keep an eye out for seabirds like fulmars, kittiwakes, gannets, and common guillemots gliding alongside the ship. Crossing the Arctic Circle adds a sense of adventure, with the chance to spot whales in the open waters. In the morning, you may encounter icebergs, many of which remain grounded due to the fjord’s relatively shallow depth of around 400 meters (1,312 feet). Later, you’ll land near Sydkap, where sweeping views of Hall Bredning unfold before you, and there’s a good chance of spotting Arctic hares among the rugged terrain.
-
Today, you may go ashore at Ittoqqortoormiit, a settlement of 500 people in the Scoresby Sund. You may visit one of the world's most remote post offices, and in the streets, you'll see vignettes of daily life: dog sleds and the drying skins of seals and musk oxen.
