You will be greeted upon arriving in Quito and transferred to La Casona de la Ronda, in the heart of historic Quito. In the afternoon you'll enjoy a private walking tour with your guide, focusing on the city's storied history and sites.
-
Today you'll be picked up from your hotel and enjoy the ride north through the countryside and the town of Otavalo. Here, you'll get a glimpse of life in rural Ecuador, visiting several small town markets and workshops along the way. Afterwards, you'll be returned to Casona de la Ronda.
-
In the early morning you'll be picked up and transferred to the airport for your flight to the Galapagos. A member of the Odyssey will be waiting to greet you and your fellow cruise mates before getting you to the pier and embarking on the ship. After lunch and settling in, you'll begin your Galapagos adventure with a walk along Dragon Hill, spotting iguanas feed on prickly pears.
-
The second day of the cruise includes stops at the red sands of Rabida Island and the unique volcanic cone of Chinese Hat Island. You'll have a chance to snorkel at both sites in addition to spotting sea lions, penguins, flamingos and brown pelicans.
-
Day three of your cruise continues to Darwin Bay and Prince Philip's Steps on Genovesa Island, famous for its wide variety of animal life. At Darwin Bay you'll be able to snorkel and search for the rare red-footed boobies, while at Prince Philip's Steps you have the chance to kayak around the coast spotting a number of land and water birds.
-
The last full day of cruising visits Bartolome and its iconic Pinnacle Rock. Snorkeling gives you a chance to see penguins once more, in addition to white-tip reef sharks and sea turtles. Afterwards, at Sullivan Bay, you'll explore the uniquely formed volcanic island and wonder how such diversity of wildlife can survive such tough conditions.
-
On your last morning you'll stretch your legs on shore while visiting the highlands of Santa Cruz, including one of the most famous residents, the Galapagos giant tortoise. You'll then be transferred back to the airport in Baltra where you'll catch your flight back to mainland Ecuador, then connecting to your international flight home.
