Rooms and suites make the most of these vistas through their full-length windows and furnished balconies, while the large outdoor infinity pool looks directly out over rocks that have been chiseled and eroded for millions of years.
The property's relaxed atmosphere and excellent range of amenities make it easy to unwind, whether you wish to indulge in a spa treatment, cool off in one of the two swimming pools, play a game of tennis or enjoy a leisurely round of golf on the 27-hole course amid pine trees and a mountainous backdrop.
Despite its plush, contemporary feel, the resort's history actually spans back to the 1950s. Over the years the club has hosted the likes of Walt Disney and John Wayne. Today the property maintains its air of exclusivity while offering a laid-back environment for families and couples alike.
The hotel offers both Club King and Queen rooms alongside four suite choices. All offer views over the surrounding mountains from floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies or patio areas.
The Club rooms are spacious and offer a sitting area with fireplace. Master Suites are larger and facilities include a wet bar, living area and generously sized bathrooms with bath tubs and separate showers. The Club Deluxe Suites enjoy all of the same features with the addition of a larger lounge area. The Club Suites offer even more space, including a large working area, while the one- or two-bedroom Garden of the Gods Suites feature a full kitchen, a dining area, two balconies and a private entrance.
The resort is just 1.6 km (one mile) from the Garden of the Gods, whose rock formations present excellent photography opportunities. The surrounding hills offer a large network of hiking trails and other outdoor activities. The property is also within driving distance of Pikes Peak, known as ‘America’s Mountain’, with its scenic highway and distinctive cog railway. The beautiful natural setting and views of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains make this a great place to base yourself in Colorado Springs.
Dining options are varied here, with several on-site restaurants to choose from. There's also a café and room service is available. You can enjoy breakfast and lunch at the Grand View Dining Room, which offers views of Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods. You can also dine here for your evening meal, or head to the Kissing Camels Grille. The Rocks Bar and Lounge also serves lighter dishes throughout the day.
Facilities for families are excellent, with a dedicated Family Recreation Center. This features a junior Olympic-sized pool, a toddler pool, a playground, a games room and a basketball court. Active families can also make use of the six tennis courts, or head out to explore the nearby hiking trails.
The resort's facilities include a 27-hole golf course and driving range, six tennis courts, a family recreation area, an outdoor heated infinity pool and a full service spa.
