This large but welcoming lodge embraces a rustic mountain style, using exposed brick and natural materials throughout. Its interiors reflect this theme: strolling through its communal areas you'll come across chandeliers made from deer antlers, wooden beams and open log fireplaces set in stone. The one, two and three-bedroom condos and townhouses that make up the lodge are decorated in warm tones and offer lots of space, featuring full kitchens, lounge areas and private balconies or patios.
When not relaxing by the fire, guests can enjoy the fresh mountain air by making use of the property's hot tubs, barbecue grills and outdoor pool. In summer, you're well-placed for exploring the surrounding alpine countryside, where various walking trails beckon. Meanwhile, in winter months the lodge is transformed by snowfall and becomes a popular base for skiing.

The hotel offers a variety of condo types, including studio, one, two and three-bedroom options as well as two and three-bedroom townhouses. The condos all have kitchen facilities with granite countertops, a private balcony or patio area and a gas fireplace. The studio condo and one-bedroom condos can house up to four guests, while the two-bedroom condos can sleep six and up to eight people can stay in the three-bedroom option.
The townhouses all feature vaulted ceilings, a deck or patio area, a gas fireplace, a full kitchen and a dining area. The two-bedroom townhouse contains two full bathrooms, while the three-bedroom townhouse has three.
Location
Located at the base of Peak 8,200 m (656 ft) from the BreckConnect Gondola, Mountain Thunder Lodge is just a five-minute walk from Main Street's shops, restaurants and galleries and ten minutes’ walk from the Breckenridge Recreation Center and the Breckenridge Golf Club.
Food and drink
While there are no on-site dining options at the hotel, each condo and townhouse features its own kitchen and dining area, giving you the option to self-cater. The property also has barbecue grills available for guest use and the closest supermarket is just one block from the hotel. Alternatively, Main Street is just a few minutes' walk away and is lined with a number of excellent dining options.
Families
Most rooms here are suitable for a family of four, while the two and three-bedroom options are ideal for larger family groups. There's an on-site children’s play area and two indoor pools.
Facilities and activities
During a stay here you can make use of the two indoor pools, the outdoor heated pool and outdoor hot tubs. The more active can also spend time in the fitness facilities. A complimentary shuttle service is available for taking you into town, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
