Situated near to Bishop's Beach and Kachemak Bay is the Aspen Suites Hotel, a comfortable and convenient accommodation that serves as an ideal base for those looking for a little independence and a longer stay in Homer.

This modern all-suite hotel is a welcoming option in the ‘Halibut Fishing Capital of the World’, offering large rooms with kitchenettes, dining tables and en suite bathrooms. The hotel is within walking distance of the famous spit, a boardwalk with an array of shops, attractions and restaurants to explore.

OUR OPINION:

This apartment-style property offers a bit more independence and flexibility, making it a great place to stay if you're looking to explore Homer and Kachemak Bay at a slower pace. However please keep in mind as this is an apartment-style property it can mean the service is a little impersonal and the property can lack character.

Rooms

All rooms are decorated in neutral tones and offer the choice between a double or two queen beds, each of which include a fully furnished kitchen, separate coffee making facilities, TV and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Some rooms on the third-floor offer views of the bay and can be booked on request. Accessible rooms can also be requested.

Location

Aspen Suites Hotel has a prime location when it comes to exploring the town of Homer. The property is located on Sterling Highway, being within easy reach of the town's faculties and restaurants, as well as just a 10-minute drive from the Spit. Homer’s historic Old Town is a 15-minute walk from delicious local restaurants and cafés such as AJ’s Old Town Steakhouse and Wild Honey Bistro, a creperie which creates sweet and savory crêpes served with locally sourced and foraged ingredients.

Food and drink

Dining is not included at Aspen Suites but there are self-catering facilities in each of the suites and the hotel is situated opposite a large Safeway supermarket. You might also opt to walk into the Old Town or make your way to the Spit for different dining options.

Facilities and activities

There are laundry facilities onsite and a fitness room. Wi-Fi is complimentary and available throughout the property, and free parking is situated in front of the hotel. Although there aren't any activities directly available from the hotel, numerous experiences operate nearby such as bear viewing trips and halibut fishing.
