Rooms
The hotel offers many different room types, which all have private balconies or patios, high-end bath amenities and high-speed internet access. There are ocean view, garden view or standard view rooms as well as corner rooms that offer sweeping views. You can also choose to stay in one of the suites if you’re looking for more space. Location
Sonesta Resort is part of Shipyard Plantation, an 800-acre residential and resort community in the south end of Hilton Head Island. There are plenty of facilities here including golf courses, tennis courts and jogging trails all within walking distance as well as private access to Bass Head Beach.
Food and drink
Guests can enjoy high-end dining at Heywood’s Restaurant or dine alfresco at the more casual Seacrest Terrace and Patio. Sweet Cane Bar and Grille is a good option for a light lunch by the pool and Sandbar at Marker 72 is a beach bar with tables overlooking the ocean with a come-as-you-are dress code. On Friday nights, Sonesta hosts a seafood buffet with shrimp, oysters, hand-carved prime rib and an ever-changing menu of fresh seafood caught that day.
Families
Sonesta Resort has a supervised kids’ club with a number of activities for children up to the age of 12. The rooms also have pull-out beds, ideal for young children.
