Royal Zambezi is a luxurious lodge situated on the banks of the Zambezi River. There are 15 secluded tents, each with a thatched canopy and spacious bathroom. Of the 14, eight are classic suites, four are deluxe chalets and three are presidential suites. The deluxe chalets each boast a stunning external deck with plunge pool, bath, shower and sala and presidential suites are larger still, measuring 100 sq m with an additional lounge. All of the suites are spaced out along the river bank under mature trees, with private decks and views of the water. Bush noises lull you to sleep at night, and you can watch the sun rise over the river each morning.

The large open plan reception area, lounge and dining room overlook the river and are designed with classic architectural lines, high thatched roofs, and two large fireplaces for the cooler evenings. A wide copper-roofed veranda provides an informal space for alfresco dining or taking tea in the afternoon. A timber deck extends over the river floodplain and this is ideal for relaxing on and watching the birds, elephant, hippo, buffalo, waterbuck and other game. In the evenings, guests gather at the Sausage Tree Bar, built around an ancient sausage tree. Next to the bar is an infinity pool, ideal for the heat of the day. Finally, the lodge also has a small spa with two treatment rooms, a steam room, Jacuzzi and small pool.

Activities include game drives in the national park (park fees of US$35 per person per day, which will be added to your room bill for payment on check-out), walking safaris, boat cruises, canoe trips and fishing excursions. Dinner on an island in the river and a private dinner in your chalet are available on request.
