I studied abroad in Senegal when I was in college, and it inspired a career in the international humanitarian sector and over 15 years of living and working in Africa.
I have been lucky to widely explore the African continent and discover how amazingly diverse it is: from vibrant, distinct cities such as Cairo and Cape Town to dramatic landscapes like the Simien Mountains in Ethiopia, and the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania.
Travelling has taught me so much about the world and the benefits of getting out of your comfort zone. I’m thrilled to be able to utilise my passion for travelling at Audley to design trips for those who share a curiosity about the world.

What’s the best local dish you’ve tasted?
Grasshoppers. A seasonal delicacy in Uganda, grasshoppers (“nsenene” in Luganda) are a very popular snack when they’re available. Typically pan fried with diced onions and a little salt, they taste a bit like shrimp. Don’t be afraid, just close your eyes and try one!
Where would you love to travel next?
Morocco is next on my list. You’ve got the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts combined with incredible history, culture, cuisine, art and architecture. What’s not to love?
Your best piece of travel advice?
It’s okay to be nervous or have fears about travelling to a new place. That’s completely rational and normal. But what I’ve found is that those concerns quickly melt away once you arrive and gain your bearings. There are always people who will welcome you in, help you navigate a new place, and share their culture with you.
