The Petra Guest House Hotel is perfect for those who want the best location in Petra on a reasonable budget. It's just a stone's throw from the entrance to the site, and enjoys wonderful views of the sandstone mountains that hide the lost city.

Rooms are simple but comfortably furnished, with many housed in chalets nestled in the property's stony grounds.

The guesthouse has a certain laid-back charm that makes guests feel at home, and its Cave Bar, carved out of an ancient cave, is Petra's best spot for a quiet drink and some local entertainment.

OUR OPINION:

We think this is a good option for your time in Petra due to its wonderful location. While the hotel lacks facilities such as a swimming pool, it makes up for this with its characterful bar and convenient position.

Rooms

Accommodation is in simple guest rooms and chalets, with both categories having either king size or twin rooms. The standard guest rooms are smaller than the chalets and based in the main building, while the more spacious chalets are found within the property's grounds. They have an external entrance, with the main building accessed via steps. Complimentary tea, coffee and water are provided in all rooms, as well as a safe, individually-controlled air conditioning, a TV, minibar and internet access.

Location

Just a few minutes’ walk to the Petra visitor center and ticket office, Petra Guest House Hotel has an exceptional location. The hotel is also just a short walk from Wadi Musa’s restaurants and supermarkets, providing an alternative to dining at the hotel's restaurant for dinner and the opportunity to pick up a few snacks for a day of sightseeing.

Food and drink

A breakfast buffet is served in the main restaurant on the ground floor and dinner is available here too, subject to demand. You can also order a snack or a drink in the Nabataean Cave Bar, which has an outside terrace, while the cozy lobby lounge is a relaxing place to enjoy a refreshing beverage.
