The Petra Marriott
The Petra Marriott, Petra, Jordan
In terms of location, its spot away from the site entrance is quiet and tranquil, and makes for a comfortable retreat from the visits to the Red Rose City. The Marriott has 100 guest rooms, an outdoor pool and a choice of restaurants including an Italian and a local Arabic dining option. The views of the surrounding valley terrain are superb, and the sun sets here in spectacular colors in the evenings, a very enjoyable end to a busy day's exploration.

Alternative places to stay nearby
Where possible, we like to offer a range of accommodation for each stop of your trip, chosen by our specialists as some of their favorite places to stay. To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can’t be bettered.
Opposite the entrance to the Petra Visitor Centre, the Movenpick Resort Petra offers a comfortable stay and a convenient location for visiting Jordan’s most famous tourist attraction.
As the closest hotel to the site of Petra, Petra Guest House Hotel offers an excellent location and a touch of charm that can be lacking from other hotels in the area.
Located just 10 minutes from the main Petra site, the Petra Moon Hotel offers large, comfortable rooms and a rooftop pool with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains.
Experiences while staying here
The following activities are designed to give you the most authentic experiences of the area where you’re staying. We work with local guides, who use their knowledge and often a resident’s eye to show you the main sights and more out-of-the-way attractions. Our specialists can also suggest outdoor pursuits and activities, such as cooking classes, that will introduce you to the traditions of the area’s inhabitants.
The tour begins with the walk down from the site entrance to the beginning of the Siq. This path is flanked with typical rock-cut tombs that are a very small precursor of the drama to come. The most impressive of these preliminary tombs is the Obelisk tomb.
