Serra Caféma Camp is located in the extreme northwest of Namibia, very close to the border with Angola. The region is shared only with the Himba, some of the last truly nomadic people in Africa.
The Kunene River is the only permanent source of water in the whole region and it creates a lush oasis along its banks, surrounded by rugged mountains and sand dunes. Under big, shady albida trees you will find an exclusive, luxurious and peaceful camp, with all the comforts you could need in large, fully furnished Meru tents with thatched roofs.
The eight spacious and luxurious tents are all raised off the ground, with large private decks overlooking the river. There is a small swimming pool, dining room and bar, where dinner is served and you can enjoy drinks and snacks throughout the day. The camp is located just inland from the Atlantic Ocean and the Skeleton Coast and the winds that blow from the Atlantic help to keep the camp cool even in summer. Time is spent in the breathtaking Hartmann Valley, where herds of springbok, ostrich, zebra and even meerkat can be seen.
Activities include 4x4 safaris on the sand dunes and boat trips on the Kunene River where you may well see huge crocodiles basking on the banks. Walking trails in the remote mountain and river valleys are a highlight as are excursions to meet with the native Ovahimba families who live in the nearby vicinity, to learn about their lifestyles and traditions. Quad biking across this stunning landscape is also an unforgettable activity.
