Rooms
The hotel offers three categories of suites, all designed for one to four guests. The entry suite, Jungle, faces the green foliage of the hillside with setups of one king size bed or two queen beds. The next category, Panoramic, offers slightly more space and features wide views of both the hillside jungle and Nosara Beach while offering multiple bed layouts. The Flor Blanca Suites give guests the most idyllic ocean views, with one king bed and plenty of additional living space to relax. All rooms feature large verandas, free Wi-Fi, high-end bedding, mini-fridges and air-conditioning. The hotel has opted for no television so as not to disrupt the natural elegance of the setting.
Location
Located on the western coast of Nicoya Peninsula, Lagarta Lodge's hillside perch provides uninterrupted views of Playa Nosara in addition to the meandering Nosara River which plays host to a variety of wildlife. Guests can make the 15-minute walk downhill to the town's handful of restaurants and bars or the inviting Pelada Beach.
Food and drink
The hotel's Chirriboca Restaurant serves delicious meals with an emphasis on organic ingredients. Dishes are a mix of regional and international recipes with plenty of fresh caught fish plates to complement the meat and vegetarian options. The open air atmosphere and upstairs Gecko Lounge provide for outstanding ocean views and stargazing.
Families
The Jungle and Panoramic Suites can be set up for a family of four while children under 12 stay free of charge. There are a number of activities available both on property and nearby which can be enjoyed by children of all ages.
Facilities and activities
The hotel's two infinity pools and Jacuzzi are the perfect place to relax and absorb the Costa Rican sunshine, while those who want a bit of pampering can enjoy the treatments and massages of the spa or meditate in a yoga session. In addition to the on-site offerings, guests can enjoy a number of activities arranged by the hotel, including boat tours, kayaking in the Nosara River, surfing at nearby Guiones Beach, hiking through the hotel's private nature reserve or the unforgettable experience of watching hundreds of olive ridley sea turtles hatch and scurry into the white foam tides at Ostional Beach.
