What tips would you give for people who want to visit your specialty destinations?
Bring comfortable shoes, an open mind, and an appetite. Start early in Spain — locals dine late, so embrace the rhythm. In Portugal, don’t miss the smaller towns — places like Évora, Tavira, or the islands of the Azores and Madeira feel like you’ve stepped back in time. And wherever you go, indulge in the local flavours — a pastel de nata still warm from the oven, a perfectly prepared bacalhau dish, or tapas shared in Seville’s old quarter.
Your best piece of travel advice?
Slow down. Don’t try to see everything — choose a few things and do them well. Leave space in your itinerary for the unexpected, whether it’s a cafe that catches your eye or a conversation with a local that leads you somewhere completely unplanned.
What’s your most vivid travel moment?
Breakfast above the clouds in Madeira — surrounded by mist and silence before the sun broke through, revealing the entire island spread out below me. It was peaceful, surreal, and one of those moments that remind you how lucky you are to see the world.
