Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Geneva. Upon arrival at Geneva Airport, collect your bags and pick up your hired car before driving 45 minutes to the lakeside town of Annecy. Take the rest of the day to settle in and relax.

  • Your private guide meets you for a walking tour of Annecy, where you get a feel for the town and its history and see its best known sites. Afterward, taste local cheeses from a celebrated cheese monger. In the evening, take a stroll through town and enjoy dinner at one of Annecy's celebrated restaurants.

  • Today you'll take to the hills of Le Semnoz for a guided hike through the local fields and pastures, ending with views of Lac d'Annecy below, and if you're lucky, the formidable Mont Blanc in the distance.

  • From Annecy you'll make the hour and a quarter drive to the alpine region of Chamonix. Settle in to your hotel and explore around the small village in the afternoon while taking in the views.

  • This morning your private guide brings you up to the Aiguille du Midi. Learn about the history of alpine adventuring while enjoying up-close views of Mont Blanc, Europe’s tallest mountain. Afterward take the cog train to the Mer de Glace, an ancient glacier whose ice cave is open to the public.

  • Leaving Chamonix and France, you'll drive east into Switzerland for a stay in Montreux, on the shore of Lake Geneva. Spend the afternoon relaxing and perhaps enjoy a scenic cruise for sunset.

  • Spend the day experiencing some of Switzerland's best wines with a guided tour to Lavaux. Sample the region's red and white wines before a meat and cheese fondue lunch while taking in the terraced vineyards and panoramic lake views.

  • Today you'll drive back to the Geneva Airport, turn in your car and check in for your flight back home. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
