Luna del Rio is a five room lodge located on El Castillo's main street.
Each room is simply furnished, with comfortable beds, air-conditioning and private bathroom (though it is worth noting the heating of the water is by solar power, so hot water supply can sometimes be a little temperamental).
The Spanish owners give the place a welcoming feel and it has a great location on the riverfront.

Indio Maíz Biological Reserve
Expect to see howler monkeys, brightly coloured poison dart frogs, a wide range of birdlife including trogons, manikins, tanagers and if you're lucky scarlet macaws. There is also an endless variety of flora and the chance to see larger mammals such as ocelots.
