Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Copenhagen. Following your international flight to Copenhagen, you’ll be welcomed at the airport by your private driver, who'll escort you to your hotel and assist you with check in. After some time to settle in, you have the afternoon to explore as you wish. You could stroll to the colourful harbour of Nyhavn or climb to the top of the spiral staircase at the Church of Our Saviour and take in some of the best views of the city.

  • Copenhagen is a contemporary, clean, and classy highlight of Scandinavia. Known as the cyclist capital of the world, biking is a large part of the Danish culture. Around 60 per cent of Copenhagen residents cycle every single day. With your shared group and guide, you'll take part in a cycling tour past many of the city's main sights, beautiful scenery, and impressive landmarks. These will include Parliament, the queen’s castle, along the canals, and finally, the Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. In the afternoon, you'll learn to bake Danish happiness (dansk hygge) and a selection of traditional, delicious Danish pastries (Wienerbrød). A professional pastry chef will guide you through all the different baking techniques and tips, including kneading, rolling and folding the dough with butter.

  • Today, you'll meet your guide and head to Copenhagen Central Station to board the train for a 20-minute journey to Roskilde. Once the capital of Denmark, Roskilde has a fascinating history dating back to the Viking Age, evident throughout the city. You’ll first visit Roskilde Cathedral, which was built in 1275 and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. With your guide, you’ll have time to explore the picturesque old town, local shops and cafes. You'll then visit the impressive Viking Ship Museum, which features the recovered remains of five Viking ships as well as several interactive exhibitions which bring the culture and traditions of the Viking Age to life.

  • Your driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the cruise terminal so you can board your ship, Silver Dawn, and begin your adventure. Settle into your suite onboard and get ready for departure.

  • An impressive 222 snow-coated mountain peaks welcomes you to Molde's glorious coastal setting. Molde is known as the Town of Roses, the scent of colourful blooms carries breezes down from the Town Hall's rooftop gardens. See some traditional life in the open-air Romsdal Museum, which has gathered a collection of farm buildings and traditional timber houses to showcase the area's heritage. Rise 400 meters to the Varden viewpoint, for a spectacular panorama of the Romsdal Alps reflecting in Romsdalsfjord's waters.

  • A colourful, historic capital of Norway, Trondheim's history reaches back to 997 AD when it was founded by Viking King Olav Tryggvason. There's a welcoming and intimate feel to the city, with a photogenic waterfront, and glowing wooden warehouses adding a touch of old-time charm. Traditional timber houses and colourful wharves line up along the waterfront, painting a pretty picture with pistachio-green and turmeric-yellow licks of paint.

  • Andalsnes is located at the mouth of the river Rauma, at the shores of the Romsdalsfjord, one of the fjords protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Famous in the 19th century for salmon fishing, the Rauma flows through the Romsdalen Valley, considered some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of Norway. Andalsnes is known as a centre of excellence for Norwegian alpine sports, including mountaineering, climbing, hiking and even base jumping.

  • Bergen's World Heritage waterfront, Bryggen, is a ramshackle line-up of incredible Hanseatic warehouses. Fløyen Mountain watches over Bergen, and you can take a short but steep hike up to the panoramic viewpoints, or jump on the funicular. Nærøyfjorden is perhaps Norway's most photographed and iconic piece of scenery. A cruise through the base of this spectacular, narrow fjord is an utterly humbling experience, as the claustrophobically close slopes rise over you. Sognefjord also stretches out nearby and is Norway's longest fjord, adorned with plunging waterfalls.

  • Olden is a tiny village of 500 people, which is swallowed whole by its colossal surroundings. The village nestles at the mouth of the Oldeelva River, on the southern banks of Norway's sixth-longest fjord, Nordfjord. You'll cruise vast lakes, confront cascading glaciers, and ascend to impressive viewpoints to survey the majesty from above. Head to the Briksdal Glacier to admire the icy expanse up close and hike through the deeply picturesque surroundings. From Olden, you can sail out on the smooth waters of the scenic Nordfjord, or calmly kayak across its glassy surface.
