Warders Hotel

Warders Hotel

Fremantle, Australia

Set in the bustling beach suburb of Fremantle, Warders Hotel offers a tasteful collaboration of ‘old’ meets ‘new’. This boutique accommodation was once used by the Warders of the local Fremantle prison, and still retains much of its original charm and character.

All of the hotel rooms are built within the original stone cottages and work perfectly for couples and families alike. Fremantle is a great alternative to staying in central Perth and still allows for easy access to all the local attractions such as Kings Park, the Swan River and Rottnest Island.

The resident Gimlet Bar is built into the ground floor of the stone cottages and is an ideal place to pick up drinks and light bites. The separate Emily Taylor restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with many of the dishes incorporating an Asian Fusion twist.

OUR OPINION:

A characterful boutique hotel which gives a great insight into the local colonial heritage. The thoughtful touches and excellent service make any stay here extra special.

Food and drink

The Emily Taylor Bar & Kitchen derives its name from a ship that once transported spice from Asia to Perth in the 1800s, although it now lays on the ocean floor off the coast of Fremantle. The restaurant offers an array of dishes with an Asian twist — a light breakfast is included within a stay at the hotel, and the restaurant is open daily until late, serving lunch, dinner and drinks.

The separate Gimlet Bar is perfect for a morning coffee or a nightcap, as well as light bites throughout the day.
