On the edge of Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Seascape Coastal Retreat is a comfortable, waterfront property in a scenic location. With panoramic ocean and mountain views and direct access to the Cabot Trail, it offers instant access to the wild and rugged scenery of the Cape Breton Peninsula. 

The inn has a series of stand-alone cottages that sit on clipped lawns overlooking the sea. Each cottage has a living room with a fireplace, a kitchenette, and a bathroom with whirlpool bath. You'll also get air conditioning and a private deck with sea views and a barbecue.

A wide, gently-sloping pathway leads down to a quiet, sandy beach or you can admire the views from the enclosed garden or spa tub. Seascape also has a good restaurant serving local seafood.

Kayaks and mountain bikes are available to borrow free of charge and staff are happy to assist with planning local hikes, rides or tours. There are a variety of beaches to explore, several golf courses in the local area and whales, seals and eagles are often spotted along the shore.

Rooms

The stand-alone cottages are well spaced out across the large lawn and each offers ocean views from its deck. Decor is modern but simple with wood furniture and neutral tones. Along with a spacious bedroom, the cottages provide a separate living area with a fireplace, a kitchenette, and a bathroom with a whirlpool bath. The cottages are all air conditioned and have TV, DVD player and large picture windows overlooking the ocean, while the deck has a barbecue. 

Location

Seascape Coastal Retreat is in Ingonish on the east coast of the Cape Breton Peninsula. It offers easy access to the Cabot Trail and is on the edge of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. 

Food and drink

Cottages feature kitchenettes and BBQs so you can self-cater should you wish. The retreat is located a short drive from local cafes, pubs and restaurants.

Facilities and activities

There's a spa tub in the garden and mountain bikes and kayaks are available to borrow free of charge. Whale-watching tours take place nearby and whales, seals and seabirds are frequently spotted along the shoreline. Staff can help with planning local hikes and there's a choice of golf courses in the local area.
