A cluster of 20 character-filled homes make up this heritage property. Although it first opened its doors in the mid 1800s, The Great George continues to offer all the modern conveniences and comforts with a healthy dose of tradition.
Rooms are peacefully private, separated into individual houses with separate entrances. The spacious lobby feels more like a lounge with large leather armchairs lit by glowing lamps — a cozy spot to enjoy one of the freshly baked cookies or a drink during the daily complimentary cocktail hour.

Our favorite property on Prince Edward Island, the historic inns epitomize maritime hospitality and comfort, with a touch of luxury. Renovations have managed to blend all the modern conveniences you would expect from a hotel of this standard, while still maintaining the integrity of these charming old buildings.

There are four options for accommodation at this property, ranging from Traditional to Deluxe Stable House through to Romantic Hideaway Suites and Luxury condos. Each grade offers greater space and amenities such as a Jacuzzi, claw foot bathtub, fireplace or balcony. The condos offer a full kitchen, laundry facilities and living room for those on an extended stay. Every stay includes complimentary on-site parking and continental breakfast.
Location
The Great George is in an ideal location, steps from popular Victoria Row, Confederation Court Mall, Victoria Park, and many excellent restaurants and pubs. As well as being a good base it’s also in an easy spot to exit the city and explore the rest of the island.
Food and drink
The continental breakfast is complimentary, served in the lobby area or brought to your room for a small charge. A menu of snacks and beverages are available at the front desk or can be delivered to your room. Although there are no dining options within the hotel, a wide variety of excellent restaurants are within a few minutes’ walk and reservations can be made by the concierge.
Facilities and activities
This hotel offers fitness rooms, walking and jogging routes and historical walking tours at 4pm daily throughout the summer.
