In the heart of Munich’s old city, the Bayerischer Hof is a palatial hotel that offers exceptional service, a four-floor spa and Michelin-starred restaurants, all conveniently located within walking distance to the city’s main sights. The hotel, commissioned by King Ludwig I in 1839, exudes opulence from the moment you walk in the door. As you enter the lobby, you’re greeted with an expansive, stained-glass dome in the ceiling, reflecting gold and blue light from above.
Within the hotel you’ll find gilded bannisters leading to an arcade of designer shops overlooking the lobby. There are four restaurants, including two that have Michelin stars. You can also head up to the extensive spa, which is spread over four floors and offers a steam bath, sauna, beauty and massage services, a gym and a large pool with a sliding glass roof overhead that can open up to let the sun in.
In addition to the high-level services and dining on offer at the Bayerischer Hof, it is also conveniently located along Promenadeplatz. You’ll be within walking distance from the shops, restaurants and museums in Viktualienmarkt square, Marienplatz and Glockenspiel. It’s also near Frauenkirche, visible from the rooftop lounges.
