DeraMandawa

Jaipur, India

A calm retreat away from the chaos of Jaipur, the property has been built in a traditional style, with Rajasthani arches and awnings complementing British touches. It's decorated in rich colors and furnishings which provide an authentic Indian ambiance.

The Singhs are attentive hosts and make their guests feel very much a part of the family, even giving them the opportunity to join in the family temple ceremony each evening.

Rooms

There are just four suites at DeraMandawa, all of which have been renovated to a high standard. Some are set over two floors with a study, bedroom and lounge area, providing ample space in which to relax during your time in Jaipur.

Location

Situated in the center of Jaipur amid a maze of narrow lanes and passageways, DeraMandawa is ideally located for visits to the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and local markets.

Food and drink

There's a small dining lounge at DeraMandawa used to serve up a breakfast of Rajasthani curry or continental cuisine. The property can also arrange lunch and dinner on request and this is one of the best ways to sample local Indian family cooking.

Families

For families wishing to spend a night or two at DeraMandawa, the suites can sleep up to four people. Children can also enjoy entertainment in the form of puppet shows.

Honeymooners

Honeymoon couples are treated to the Honeymoon Suite, which has a round bed and luxury linen.

Facilities and activities

As a small, family-run bed and breakfast property, the DeraMandawa has little in the way of facilities, however, the small courtyard and sitting area are good places to relax after sightseeing. The property can also organize traditional gala evenings, introducing guests to local music, kite flying and henna art.
