Samode Haveli, Jaipur

Samode Haveli

A monument to India’s regal past, your first introduction to Samode Haveli will be along an elephant ramp leading to a calming whitewashed courtyard and pool area. The original palace furnishings have been lovingly maintained, while the hand-painted dining room provides a colorful backdrop to your evening meals. Rooms are spread around traditional square haveli courtyards and there are plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore within the complex.

Rooms

Each room at Samode Haveli is unique, with traditional décor, hand-painted murals and features such as pillars, arches and seating which give a nod to the original use of the building.

Both the Deluxe rooms and Suites are spacious and comfortable, while the Sheesh Mahal ('place of mirrors') room is completely mirrored. All rooms have either a private balcony or terrace looking out to the property's pool, fountains and gardens, as an en suite bathroom and amenities such as a satellite TV, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities.

Location

Samode Haveli is located within the walled city of central Jaipur. The area is busy with bustling markets and local shops nearby, which can be explored on foot.

Food and drink

The former royal dining hall, with its beautiful hand-painted murals, now serves as the hotel restaurant, serving a choice between traditional Rajasthani fare and international cuisine. You can also take afternoon tea on the sheltered veranda. Cocktails and other beverages can also be enjoyed, perhaps while relaxing by the pool on comfortable day beds.

Families

For younger members of the family the hotel has a splash pool, and in the evening children can watch traditional puppet shows.

Honeymooners

The Sheesh Mahal suite is ideal for honeymooning couples. Relax in a rose petal bath or enjoy an intimate dining experience, both of which can be arranged on request.

Facilities and activities

Facilities at Samode Haveli include an Ayurvedic spa, an outdoor pool surrounded by traditional Indian day beds and a wading pool for children. There's also a fitness center, Jacuzzi and steam room. In the evening guests can enjoy local Rajasthani music and dance performances.

Environmental and social responsibility

The hotel is committed to providing local people with employment, running free training programs and providing support to help them get into the hospitality industry.

Local excursions

During your stay at Samode Haveli you could enjoy a number of excursions. We'd recommend visiting the City Palace and Observatory, and Amber Fort.

Our opinion

Stay at Samode Haveli if you want to experience an Indian heritage hotel at its best, in real luxury.
