Mharo Khet is a living farm sanctuary on the edge of Jodhpur, where hospitality, agriculture and ecology exist in harmony. Created around the principles of regenerative farming and thoughtful stewardship of the land, it offers guests a rare opportunity to experience Rajasthan from a completely different perspective.
Spread across 40 acres of cultivated fields, orchards and native vegetation, the estate is a striking oasis within the arid landscape of the Thar Desert. Rather than focusing on grandeur, Mharo Khet celebrates simplicity, craftsmanship and a profound sense of place. The property is intentionally small, with only ten individually designed cottages discreetly positioned throughout the farm, creating an atmosphere of privacy and exclusivity.
The guest experience revolves around the rhythms of the land. Seasonal harvests shape the menus, nature influences daily activities and meaningful connections with local culture are woven throughout each stay. Guests can spend their days exploring the fields with resident farmers, participating in culinary experiences, learning traditional crafts, enjoying wellness rituals beneath the trees or simply relaxing on a private deck overlooking the farm.
Design plays an equally important role. The cottages have been sensitively curated using natural materials and handcrafted furnishings created by artisans from Rajasthan and across India. Every detail reflects a commitment to preserving traditional skills while delivering contemporary comfort.
Recognised in TIME World's Greatest Places, Condé Nast Traveller Hot List, Travel + Leisure It List and the Michelin Guide, Mharo Khet has quickly established itself as one of India's most distinctive rural retreats.
Mharo Khet offers a refreshing alternative to Rajasthan’s grand forts and palaces, perfect to slow down and unwinding with its thoughtful hospitality and innovative vegetarian cuisine, making it an ideal complement to a wider North Indian journey.

Rooms
Mharo Khet consists of just ten spacious cottages, each measuring approximately 2,000 square ft and designed to maximize privacy and connection with nature. Hidden among the fields and connected by quiet pathways, the cottages feel more like private residences than hotel rooms.
Each cottage features generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, including private sunrise and sunset decks, an open-to-sky meditation courtyard, a large bedroom and living area, a walk-in wardrobe and an expansive bathroom. Interiors showcase handcrafted furniture, local stone and timber, artisanal textiles and carefully sourced decorative pieces from across India.
The overall esthetic is elegant and understated, placing comfort, craftsmanship and a connection to the landscape at the heart of the experience.
Location
Mharo Khet is situated in the village of Manai, approximately twenty-five kilometers and around forty-five minutes from Jodhpur Airport. Despite its proximity to the city, the property feels wonderfully secluded, surrounded by farmland and open countryside. The location allows guests to combine time at the farm with visits to Jodhpur's major attractions, including Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada and the historic old city. The surrounding region also offers opportunities to explore traditional villages, local artisans and the landscapes of the Thar Desert.
Food and drink
Food lies at the heart of the Mharo Khet experience. More than 95% of the produce served across the property is grown on the farm itself, often harvested only hours before reaching the kitchen. Menus change according to the seasons and daily harvest, reflecting the property's commitment to regenerative agriculture and exceptional freshness.
The culinary highlight is Paeru, an open-air dining experience set within a guava orchard, where guests can enjoy a multi-course tasting menu celebrating the produce, flavors and stories of the land.
More relaxed dining is available throughout the day at Samaa and Aab, where Indian and international influences are interpreted through a farm-first philosophy. Private dining experiences can also be arranged among the fields, beneath flowering trees or in secluded corners of the estate, creating memorable occasions tailored to individual guests.
Facilities and activities
Rather than extensive resort facilities, Mharo Khet focuses on highly personalised experiences that foster a deeper connection to nature, culture and well-being.
Guests can join guided walks through the fields to learn about regenerative farming, harvest seasonal produce and discover how the estate operates as a living ecosystem. Wellness experiences include yoga, meditation, sound healing and traditional Indian therapies, often conducted in peaceful outdoor settings beneath the farm's trees.
Cultural activities range from miniature painting, pottery and charpoy weaving to private performances by Manganiyar musicians, offering meaningful engagement with Rajasthan's artistic traditions.
For guests wishing to explore further afield, the team can arrange exclusive experiences, including private desert dining experiences in the dunes of Osian.
