Rooms
Rooms at the Hotel de la Ville come in two different styles — classic and modern. The classic rooms tend to be larger and more traditional, with parquet floors, brocade wall coverings, and marble bathrooms — most of which feature a single walk-in shower (some rooms with bath tubs are available on request). The modern rooms boast clean lines and more subtle touches of color. Interconnecting rooms are available in the deluxe categories and above while the junior suites are spacious enough to fit a third bed. All rooms come complete with air-conditioning, a minibar and a flat screen TV.
Location
The Hotel de la Ville is ideally located in the heart of Milan. Both the La Scala opera house and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II are just around the corner and on the other side of the Galleria, less than a ten minute walk from the hotel, you’ll find the Duomo.
Food and drink
The breakfast area downstairs is somewhat understated but the buffet selection is of a good quality, complete with a number of hot options. There’s also a small restaurant that serves a variety of classic Italian and Mediterranean dishes lunchtime and evening. However, the hotel’s excellent location in the heart of Milan means there are plenty of excellent restaurant options nearby.
Facilities and activities
A highlight of the Hotel de la Ville is the inviting swimming pool and relaxation area. Complete with a lovely wooden sun terrace, retractable roof and surrounded by leafy vegetation, it makes for a calming retreat away from the bustle of the city. In the basement, there is also an extensive spa with a sauna, steam room and fitness gym.
Accessibility
The Hotel de la Ville features a fully equipped wheelchair accessible deluxe room, complete with two bathrooms, one of which has been fully adapted for wheelchair use. For those with other mobility problems, one of the suites also features an adapted sit-down shower as well.
