Once the preserve of wealthy aristocrats and foreign diplomats, the Palazzo Dama has been converted into a chic and stylish boutique hotel. Downstairs, you’ll find beautiful white and gold detailing in the airy breakfast room, floor to ceiling windows, giant potted palm trees, hardwood floors and sumptuous rugs. In contrast, the dark and luxurious bar area is hung with oil paintings and dominated by a grandiose dark-wood staircase that circles up through the building, lit by a cascade of glittering chandeliers. The Palazzo Dama has a luxuriously intimate feel and is in a great location for exploring Rome.
All the rooms at Palazzo Dama are elegantly decorated in bright white tones with lovely dark blue and marine green accents. Each boasts a well-appointed marble bathroom complete with mosaics, lots of sparkling, white porcelain and Diptyque amenities. The whole style is in keeping with the luxurious nature of the property and each room is individually styled with a range of vintage design objects and artistic photographs.
The Palazzo Dama is located just off the Piazza del Popolo in central Rome, around 15 minutes on foot from the Spanish Steps along the famous designer shopping street of Via del Babuino. The Villa Borghese gardens are just a short walk away and there are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby.
Breakfast is served in the light and airy restaurant area on the ground floor. During the day, all soft drinks from your mini bar are complimentary and there is a light lunch menu on offer from the bar. In the evening, you can dine a la carte in the hotel’s L’Autre Dame restaurant or venture to one of the excellent restaurants in the area.
The large outdoor terrace is surrounded by olive and citrus trees and provides an oasis of calm away from the bustle of the city. It’s an excellent place in which to relax, soak up the sun and enjoy an evening cocktail or two. There’s also a small fitness suite which boasts its own share of glittering mirrors and chandeliers.
A wonderful boutique hotel, the Palazzo Dama is luxurious with an edgy, modern vibe, offering its guests something a little bit different during their stay in Rome.
