Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Atlanta. On arrival in Atlanta, make your own way to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to relax.
Day 2 Asheville
Collect your hire car and travel through the Chattahoochee National Forest and the small Tennessee towns of Franklin and Cherokee, en route to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Day 3 Asheville
Explore the southern Appalachians where there are many dramatic waterfalls. The region is also known for exhilarating white water rafting trips on the Nantahala River.

Follow the dramatic Atlantic coastline south where you pass through numerous oceanfront villages and the lively resort of Myrtle Beach before arriving in the picturesque town of Charleston.

Drive along the scenic Ashley Road to Magnolia Plantation and the Audubon Swamp Gardens. The waters are teeming with egrets, herons and other waterfowl and flanked by cypress and tupelo gum trees.

Today head west towards Macon, the 'Heart of Georgia', located on the banks of the Ocmulgee River. This afternoon you may wish to walk the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail or explore Ocmulgee National Monument - a tribute to the Native American Tribes that lived in the area for thousands of years.
Day 13 Macon
This morning you may wish to take the short drive from Macon to Milledgeville. The town has plenty to offer. You could catch the Historic Trolley and explore the city, or visit the Old Governor's Mansion - a fine example of High Greek Revival architecture.

Drive back to Atlanta where you will catch an overnight flight home, arriving the next day.
