Chatham Gables Inn
A warm welcome awaits from your hosts David and Andrea at their historic New England bed and breakfast. Built in 1839 as a sea captain's home, the house has all the charm and refinement of its era with classically elegant decor and modern facilities. Outside, fragrant gardens full of tumbling blooms offer a tranquil spot to relax on warm summer days.
Each of the eight rooms is individually decorated with designer fabrics, antique furniture and soft tones. All rooms offer complimentary Wi-Fi and feature large, comfortable beds, while some have private entrances, outdoor areas or open fireplaces. The common areas are just as attractive with a gallery featuring work by local artists and a chart room echoing the interests of the house's original owner.
A hearty breakfast made from local ingredients is served each morning and complimentary coffee is available for guests throughout the day. In the evening canapés are served in the Garden Gallery.
The inn is located close to sandy beaches and the Chatham Lighthouse as well as the quaint houses and many restaurants and galleries of Chatham, while all the attractions of the Cape Cod Peninsula are within easy reach.
Each of the eight rooms at Chatham Gables is individually decorated but all are classically elegant with a mixture of antique and reproduction furniture, soft linens and designer fabrics. Decor is muted in tone with plenty of natural light streaming in from the large windows. Some rooms have private entrances and secluded outdoor terraces, while others have separate seating areas and open fireplaces. All have deep armchairs, free Wi-Fi and soft lighting.
The many 18th-century homes, shingled cottages, seaside gardens and shops, galleries and restaurants of Chatham's Main St are just a short walk away. The glorious Chatham Lighthouse Beach is just a five minute drive away, while Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard can be visited on a day trip.
Food and Drink
Breakfast is a highlight of a stay and is served in the sunny Garden Room. Local organic ingredients are used where possible and herbs and vegetables come from the inn's own garden. The menu features a variety of creative dishes, alongside classic fare such as scones and berry cobblers. Canapés are served in the Garden Gallery in the evening and although the inn has no restaurant, a wide variety of dining options can be found just a short walk away.
We love the charm and elegance of this historic property in genteel Chatham where the atmospheric rooms are matched by highly personal service and a very warm welcome.
