Rooms

There are three distinct room types to choose from, all overlooking the water. Inspired by Bitter End's original 1960s cottages, the Beach Bungalows are standalone hideaways lapped by the sea on Pelican Beach, each with a wraparound terrace. For direct access to the sea, the two-storey Marina Lofts extend out over the water and come with private terraces, their own dock, and ample living space that can accommodate extra guests. Alternatively, you can opt for Marina House, with its four nautical-themed guest rooms, which can be booked individually or together with family and friends.

Location

Set on Virgin Gorda’s northern tip, Bitter End Yacht Club overlooks North Sound, a naturally protected deep-water basin that’s well-suited to sailing. Due to its secluded location, you’ll reach the outpost by boat, with an onsite marina making it easy to explore other corners of the Caribbean, including Saba Rock, Eustatia Island, and Prickly Pear Island.

Food and drink

• Caribbean cuisine serves as the foundation for food served at the resort, with a focus on fresh, local fish and produce.
• The Clubhouse serves sea-to-table cuisine in an open-air, seafront setting.
• The Buoy Room is the main après-sail spot, with a casual bar offering cocktails, shared plates, and pizzas.
• The Reef Sampler has been transformed from a former workboat into a beach bar offering snacks, pizzas, Caribbean rums, and island-inspired cocktails.
• The Quarterdeck Lounge sits in a former mariner’s library and is used for rum tastings, private dinners, sunset cocktails, and other celebrations.
• Bitter End Barista offers coffees and homemade pastries.
• You can buy extra provisions and pantry staples at The Market.

Environmental and social responsibility

Founded in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the resort’s non-profit affiliate, the Bitter End Foundation, supports local communities, marine conservation, and habitat protection through financial and educational support, with purchases from the provisions market helping to fund its work. The foundation also shapes Bitter End's approach to rebuilding, with an emphasis on reducing its environmental footprint.
