Cabanas Paraiso is located on San Fernando Island, set on a gentle incline with beautiful views of the islands, lake and its southern shore in the distance, lined with impressive volcanoes.
Just eight rooms are spread between two buildings. They are simple and do not have air-conditioning or hot water but they are spacious and comfortable and have their own bathrooms and a fan. Service standards are mixed as you might expect but hearty good home cooked meals are included.

Los Guatuzos Wildlife Refuge
You can expect to see great egrets, blue and green heron, kingfishers and cormorants as well as parakeets and many other species. There is also a healthy population of alligators, caiman, turtles and iguanas.
