Rooms

The spacious suites are tastefully decorated in a contemporary Thai style, with wooden floors and deep, rich reds. All have a private pool as well as either a balcony, terrace or garden. Amenities include air conditioning, TVs, DVD players and espresso machines.

Location

The Anantara is located in the northeast of Koh Phangan, overlooking Thong Nai Pan Noi. It's set right by the beach, whose soft, white sand gently shelves into the ocean. 

Although Koh Phangan is only a short speedboat ride from Koh Samui, it's much quieter and less developed. There are just a handful of hotels on this beach, and the area retains the charm of small island life which once defined Thailand. 

In the same bay as the property is a small village which, although only having one street, is large enough to offer a small selection of local restaurants, a few shops and a mini mart.

Food and drink

Bistro @ the Beach is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tables are set out on the sand, allowing you to enjoy delicious Thai or international dishes while looking out over the ocean.

Yukinoya is the island’s first and only teppanyaki restaurant, also serving sushi and sashimi. Open for dinner only, it’s very popular and attracts diners from all over the island.

The resort can also arrange private dining on the beach, and there's a beachfront bar serving a variety of drinks.

Live music and other performances, such as fire shows and traditional Thai dances, are hosted in the evenings. Meanwhile, the nearby village offers a range of local dining options.

Families

While there are no specific facilities aimed at children, the resort welcomes guests of all ages, and the shallow slope into the sea makes the beach a good option for small children. 

Local excursions

The property can arrange a variety of excursions that enable you to explore your surroundings, both on land and on water.

The resort’s own boat makes daily trips each morning to the Angthong Marine National Park for snorkeling, and is also available for private charter.

Island tours include walking and jungle trekking to explore the lush rainforest and the island's largely unspoiled interior, while boat trips can take you out to visit surrounding islands.

Diving

Although the resort doesn’t have its own dive center, there are several in the surrounding village. Nearby, Angthong Marine Park has good diving spots for both novices and experienced divers, with the best time to dive being January to April.

Spa Facilities

The spa here is built into the hillside behind the resort, creating a beautiful natural setting. There are four treatment rooms, two of which are open-air.
