At 2,255 meters, the valley where Goosewing Ranch is situated is the host to some of North America’s most spectacular game: elk, moose, mountain sheep, antelope, bear, eagles, geese, cranes, and much more, not to mention fantastic scenery. The Gros Ventre River, home to native cutthroat trout, runs through the meadows of this historic ranch.
This Jackson Hole dude ranch offers comfortable lodging in eight private guest cabins and three larger two-bedroom cabins for bigger families. Complimentary limited wireless internet is provided throughout the ranch. With its large stone fireplace, the main lodge serves as a central gathering place for dining or relaxing. A loft with a pool table and television overlooks the main room. Fireplaces, wood-stoves, a hot tub and swimming pool add to the cozy atmosphere. A large selection of beer, wine, and liquor complements an eclectic, seasonal menu. All meals are included in your stay at the ranch.
Amenities in your cabin will include a mini-fridge, coffeemaker with an assortment of coffees and teas, hairdryer, shower and/or bathtub.
Horseback riding is a must at this ranch — as much for the activity as for the scenery you will visit on your day out in the saddle. From the ranch's herd of 60 horses, you will be assigned your own horse for the duration of your stay. The head wrangler will match the horse and rider according to ability, physical requirements and horse temperament. Pack trips are also available.
However, if you're not keen on riding, there are several other activities to enjoy. Every day you can choose to participate in target shooting with .22 rifles, hatchet throwing, archery, horse games, team penning, and roping practice. At night, you can sit around the campfire and listen to mountain man stories, enjoy authentic Western entertainment, or take part in some line dancing.
Please be aware that Goosewing is situated in a remote area and access to the ranch is along a 25 mile stretch of unsealed dirt road.
