Tahuata Island

Tahuata Island full-day tour

You board your boat in the main harbour and set sail for the smallest inhabited island in the Marquesas archipelago. As you cross the sea, look out for dolphins and rays alongside the boat.

On reaching Tahuata you will disembark and explore the village of Vaitahu with its church, museum and crafts centre. You then continue to Haptoni village where you will see examples of the handiwork of local sculptors who carve rosewood and swordfish rostrums into wonderful works of art.

Next you will stop on a local beach for a picnic lunch where you can enjoy some leisure time before the return sailing in the afternoon. On the way back to the boat look out for the wild horses that roam the island.
