Santiburi comprises Thai-style villas with one or two bedrooms, some with private pools, or duplex suites set around the main pool, also with one or two bedrooms. All are set in the tropical gardens or on the long golden-sand beachfront of Mae Nam Beach on Koh Samui's popular northern coastline. Classic Thai decor prevails throughout the resort, with indoor and outdoor living spaces and spacious bathrooms (with all villas offering baths as well as showers).

The hotel's location makes it ideal for a peaceful and relaxing stay, with an option to dine out in the local area or venture further afield to the busier areas of Bophut or Chaweng. The Santiburi has extensive facilities suitable for all guests, including a fitness room and gym, tennis court, twice-daily yoga classes (complimentary), cycle tours, daily activities, a large spa and access to the nearby 18-hole championship golf course. There is also a kids’ activity facility, water sports and five dining options within the hotel.

OUR OPINION:

One of the larger resorts on Mae Nam Beach, the Santiburi provides guests all the facilities they might like as well as a quiet position right on the waterfront.

Rooms

Fully refurbished in 2014, the spacious hotel includes sleek, modern designs with classic Thai accents. Dotted around the tropical grounds, some villas even enjoy private pools, while the main lobby and restaurant building houses individual rooms and duplex suites. All include air conditioning and en suite bathrooms, and most have both bathtubs and a luxurious rain shower. 

Location

Mae Nam Beach is one of the least developed on the north coast of Koh Samui, away from the bustle of Chaweng and the restaurants and hotels on Bophut. Set on the beachfront toward the western end, the Santiburi offers direct access to the calm sea, the long golden sandy beach and a few local restaurants within walking distance.

Food and drink

Dining at Santiburi can be enjoyed in one of their five restaurants, or in the privacy of your own villa. Themed nights are available throughout the week and changing menus offer culinary adventures from street food to international gourmet, all with views of the beach, ocean, gardens or resort. 

Families

Children of all ages are welcomed at Santiburi. There are no adult-only restaurants or areas in the resort, and a kids' club and family sports facility are available to keep the little ones entertained.

Guests will be kept busy enjoying the various water sports on offer, a family sports facility, a kids' club, a lovely long beach and pool, the nearby golf course and plenty of dining options within the hotel and around.
