Part of the Salvatore Ferragamo collection of hotels, the Continentale is as stylish as it is luxurious. Positioned directly on the River Arno, steps away from the Ponte Vecchio, you can’t go far wrong here in terms of views or a central location. The lobby is small and intimate, and it definitely feels more like you’re walking into a chic spa than a large hotel. Even the elevator has plush white cushions and seats, and an iPad in the wall so you can take self-portraits and leave a memento of your stay for future guests.
The rooms are large, minimalist and have modern four poster beds, with crisp white curtains and desks made to look like vintage travel chests. Simple, artful drawings or photographs of chic actresses and models adorn the walls. No compromise has been made in terms of comfort with all the amenities on offer that you’d expect from a quality, four star boutique hotel. The bathrooms are beautifully tiled and most have both a bath and a shower. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, TVs and air-conditioning.
With the Ponte Vecchio almost directly opposite the two entrances to this hotel, you’re right in the heart of Florence. Across the river to the south, you can explore the Oltrarno district and Pitti Palace. Alternatively, you can walk north away from the river towards the Duomo and historic central area. Either direction, it will take no more than a ten or fifteen minute walk.
Food and Drink
The Continentale is part of the Lungarno collection of hotels, three of which are centrally located within a short walk of one another. These sister hotels offer a range of excellent dining options. La Terraza Lounge bar on the rooftop of the Continentale is one of Florence’s best open-air bars, with views over the Arno and the rooftops of the city.
An elegant and stylish boutique hotel in the heart of Florence with excellent service. It has a great selection of restaurants, inspired by La Dolce Vita, which will leave you yearning to watch the classic film.
