A former monastery, the Kruisherenhotel offers Gothic cathedral architecture mixed with chic furnishings and modern comforts. Eat at the restaurant seemingly floating above the nave, take in the barrel-vaulted ceilings or enjoy the monastic courtyard.
Maison Haas and Hustinx
Two side-by-side Art Nouveau houses operated as a single hotel, Maisons Haas and Hustinx offer elegant charm and easy walking access to most of Maastricht’s highlights. The buildings are named after their former owners, Madame Haas and Monsieur Hustinx, and each has an individual aesthetic.
Haas focuses on delicately decorated contemporary rooms, some with private patios and kitchens, while Hustinx features French oak floors, vaulted ceilings, original fireplaces and oversized windows, some of which look out over Vrijthof Square.
The buildings have been extensively renovated to add an indoor pool and spa facility, with a glass ceiling to allow plentiful natural light. There are just 17 rooms between the two buildings, giving the hotel an intimate feel.
A buffet breakfast with á la carte options is offered daily, and you’ll be close to plenty of restaurant and entertainment options, as well as many of Maastricht’s highlights.

The Haas building has two Double rooms, one Triple room, two Junior Apartments and a Senior Apartment with a patio. The Hustinx side has Deluxe Double rooms, Superior Twin rooms, Deluxe Triple Rooftop Loft, Junior suite, Deluxe Junior suite and Superior suite. The differences in room categories are mostly size, views and the location within the building.
The rooms are all spacious and have a clean, minimalist look to them. En suite bathrooms, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, minibars and flat-screen televisions all come standard.
Maisons Haas and Hustinx are located on the southern side of Vrijthof Square next to the 11th-century Basilica of Saint Servatius. It’s a central location for exploring Maastricht and convenient to a number of shopping areas and restaurants. Vrijthof Square plays host to many events and festivals, and while the hotel’s double-pane windows keep most of the noise out, the area can get busy during those times.
The hotel is a five-minute walk to Markt Square, the Maas River and the parks lining Maastricht University. It’s about 15-20 minutes to the train station and the Bonnefantenmuseum or the fine art museum.
