Two elegant Art Nouveau buildings side-by-side in Maastricht, Maisons Haas Hustinx offers an intimate boutique experience while within walking distance of many of the city’s highlights. Enjoy the on-site spa and pool, or take the short stroll to explore the nearby shops, restaurants and entertainment.
Formerly a 15th-century monastery, the Kruisherenhotel mixes chic modern design with the unmistakable features of a Gothic church. The wide-open nave has been repurposed to include a reception area and stairs leading up to a dining room that seems to float under the barrel-vaulted ceilings. From the restaurant, you’ll be face-to-face with the massive Gothic windows.
The manicured grounds still retain the tranquillity of a monastery, and the old gardens have been transformed into a courtyard for guests. When the weather is warm, you can enjoy drinks and lunch out on the terrace, surrounded by the blackened stones of the church.
The 60 rooms are spread between the former monastery, the gatekeeper’s residence and the Casa Nova villa, though all the rooms have a modern feel.

There are 60 rooms at the Kruisherenhotel, divided among the old monastery, the Gatekeeper’s Residence and the Casa Nova building. The rooms are Cosy (monastery, Casa Nova), Cosy Plus (monastery), Signature (all), and Signature Plus (Casa Nova, monastery). There are three types of suites in the monastery: Junior suite, Kruisherensuite and Bridal suite. The Signature Plus rooms and suites all have an additional seating area and a free minibar, and the suites also have whirlpool baths.
The modern rooms are in stark contrast with the medieval building, with neutral tones and minimalist furniture. All rooms come with en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, espresso machines, minibars and flatscreen TVs.
Kruisherenhotel is located just one block west of Vrijthof Square and is surrounded by schools, universities and residential apartments. It’s a five-minute walk from Markt Square, the Basilica of Saint Servatius and the Basilica of Our Lady, and about a ten-minute walk to the parks that border Maastricht University.
