You'll spend the day at Santa Cruz Island, where one of the main highlights is a hypersalinic (saltier than the sea) lagoon. Here you're likely to see flamingos, common stilts and pintail ducks, among other birds. There'll be a short guided walk to a great viewpoint over the island and a marine iguana nesting site.
Day 5 Galapagos Islands
Today you'll visit two points on Floreana Island. One is Post Office Bay, where, in the 18th century, sailors left a barrel that visitors traditionally fill with unstamped but addressed mail. You can leave a postcard here, in the hope that it'll reach its destination, or take mail away to hand deliver yourself. Marine iguanas are often seen prowling around the beach. In the afternoon, you'll visit a brackish lagoon that's home to many species of bird.
Day 6 Galapagos Islands
Today you'll explore the remote island of Española. It's here that you can see waved albatrosses launch themselves into the air. On a guided walk, you're also likely to see Nazca boobies and blue-footed boobies. The island itself is rugged and dramatic, with an impressive natural blowhole. In the afternoon, there's the option to swim and snorkel in Gardner Bay, where the beach is often speckled with sea lions.
