Gorilla Forest Camp
Gorilla Forest Camp, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda
Gorilla Forest Camp is about 3 km inside the park and nestled on a hillside amongst thick vegetation. The eight rooms are large, spacious tents on raised wooden platforms with a large terrace covered by a banana-leaf and thatched roof. At the rear of the tents is a big en suite bathroom with a shower and separate bath and plenty of piping hot water. These have been recently refurbished and are decorated to high standards.
The main dining and bar area is open-sided with views across to the primary forest on the opposite hillside. The food is excellent with large breakfasts and five course meals every evening. There is also a small spa offering massage treatments to anyone with weary legs after a day trekking to see the gorillas! The vegetation attracts plenty of birdlife and monkeys can sometimes be heard calling in the surrounding forest.
