Rooms

The lodge features just 20 rooms, creating an intimate atmosphere. Each room is positioned to take advantage of Patagonia’s dramatic scenery, with views toward the Marconi Glacier or surrounding valleys and mountains. Decor combines the character of traditional Argentine estancias with a minimalist and contemporary design, ensuring comfort while keeping the focus on the natural environment.

Location

Explora El Chaltén is located within the private Huemules Natural Reserve (Los Huemules Conservation Reserve), bordering Los Glaciares National Park in Argentine Patagonia. The lodge enjoys a secluded setting with views of the Marconi Glacier and Eléctrico Valley, providing direct access to hiking trails, wilderness areas, and some of the region’s most celebrated landscapes.

Food and drink

All meals and beverages are included during your stay. The restaurant serves cuisine inspired by Patagonia and Argentina, with an emphasis on local ingredients and regional flavors. Guests can also enjoy craft cocktails and a selection of wines at the Explorer’s Bar.

Facilities and activities

Facilities include a full-service spa with a sauna, hydromassage facilities, and treatment rooms for massages. Exploration is at the heart of the Explora experience, with expert guides leading a range of experiences included in the stay. Activities include hiking, trekking, overland journeys, and other explorations through Los Glaciares National Park, the Huemules Reserve, and surrounding wilderness areas.
