Gran Melia Iguazú Resort & Spa
Gran Melia Iguazú Resort & Spa, Iguazú Falls, Argentina
This famous hotel has a spectacular location right inside the Iguazú National Park. It is a modern, unattractive building on three floors, with 176 en suite rooms offering either a 'falls view' (although this term is a generous one) or 'jungle view' from their small balconies and large windows. All are equipped with air conditioning, high speed internet access (additional fee), a minibar, telephone, safe and cable TV.
The hotel has a good range of facilities; including a nice swimming pool and sundeck, tennis courts, a gym and a spa with sauna, steam room, whirlpool and 'Zen' relaxing room. There is also a (rather expensive) restaurant, two bars and landscaped gardens.
Although this is further from the falls than the Cataratas on the other side, its views are unobstructed; whilst those of the Cataratas are largely blocked by vegetation. No other hotel in Argentina or Brazil will match the hotel's views of the falls.
