Visit Esteros de Iberá, Argentina
Jump to:
The undoubted highlight of the Corrientes province is the Esteros de Iberá.
Now a protected area of wetlands, second only to the Pantanal in Brazil in size, this network of lagoons and creeks is best explored by canoe and affords some wonderful wildlife viewing.
Caimen, capybara, marsh deer, otters, anacondas and over 300 species of birds all inhabit this peaceful haven that the Guarani Indians originally named 'Bright Waters'.
