Chan Chich Lodge is set in the north of Belize about 20 minutes drive from Gallon Jug farm and airstrip. It has a unique location in the unexcavated lower plaza of the ancient Maya city of Chan Chich set in a private nature reserve of over 250,000 acres.
There are 12 individually thatched cabanas spread throughout their delightful gardens, beautifully decorated with local exotic hardwoods. The cabanas are fully screened with two queen size beds, a ceiling fan, a private bathroom and 24 hour electricity with a deck and hammocks.
The deluxe cabanas are more spacious with much larger bathrooms and either have two queens or one king size bed. This secluded luxury lodge is a fantastic place for birding and wildlife spotting, even the elusive jaguar can occasionally be seen!
There are self-guided trails throughout the property and excellent guides on hand for birding walks and a wide range of other excursions on offer such as canoeing, lake tours, horse-riding and to Mayan ruins. There is also a small swimming pool and Jacuzzi on site to relax in after a day's activities.
Where possible, we like to offer a range of accommodation for each stop of your trip, chosen by our specialists as some of their favorite places to stay. To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can’t be bettered.
