Medellin City Tour

Medellin City Tour, Colombia

Today you will visit the Plazuela San Ignacio and some excellent museums, including the Museo de Antioquia. This is Colombia's second oldest museum, with a fine collection of works from Pre-Colombian to modern art collections. On the top level, of three, you will find the works of Fernando Botero. A Paisa himself, another being Presidente Uribe, Botero has donated 92 of his works to the museum.

Outside in the plaza area opposite the museum and the Art-deco Palacio de Cultura, you will find a number of his oversized sculptures that have made him famous throughout the world. If you take a walk past the Parque Berrio Metro station you will find another Botero Sculpture, La Gorda, the fat woman, in front of the Banco Republica.
